You can travel on the following services at no additional cost: London Overground services between Watford Junction and London London Buses between Watford Junction and London Planning your trip: You can use real-time departure boards, a live map of the network, and the alternative route guide to help you this morning. If you're traveling in the London area, you can plan trips on alternative routes by using the TfL Journey Planner. The Southern app will also help you plan your trip. Can you tell me more about the incident? A switch failure has been reported, and this is preventing trains from running between Shepherds Bush and Watford Junction. Switches (or points) are movable sections of track that can send trains onto different routes at junctions. These are part of the signaling system, generally managed by Network Rail. Switches can stop moving correctly for a number of reasons. For example, there may be an obstruction in the moving parts, or the electronic control systems may have developed a fault. There are various backup systems which allow dispatchers to try to "set" the switches, and in some cases, they may be available for trains in one of the directions they serve, but not another. However, with more severe failures, the line in question may be blocked entirely. Network Rail will send their specialist Signaling & Telecoms teams to the site, and they will set up a safe method of working on the track. To allow staff to access the railway, sometimes we have to stop trains completely, which can lead to your train being held at stations or signals en route. As soon as it's safe to go on the line, the staff will diagnose the fault and find any quick solutions to resolve it. While this is being done, we will be monitoring progress closely. At times, replacement parts may be needed, or specialist advice from suppliers, which is why some switch failures take longer to resolve than others. Check before you travel: You can check your trip using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner. Compensation: You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your trip today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your trip, as both will be required to support any claim.

A fault with the signaling system in the Bexhill area is causing disruption to trips through this station.
󱒃
Zeitraum:Mi., 27. Mai–Mi., 27. Mai
Betreiber:Southern
Zugehörige Informationen:A fault with the signaling system in the Bexhill area is causing disruption to trips through this station. Trains running between Eastbourne and Hastings may be canceled or revised. Disruption is expected until 12:00. Customer advice: If you are traveling between Eastbourne and Hastings, you can take your normal route, but you will need to allow at least 20 extra minutes to complete your trip this morning. Please talk to station staff, look at information boards, or check your trip planner for the latest information. Planning your trip: You can see the real-time departure boards. You can view a live map of the network. You can also view an alternative route guide. Southern's app will also help you plan your trip. Can you tell me more about the incident? An axle counter failure is affecting trains traveling in both directions on the route between Eastbourne and Hastings. This part of the network uses axle counters to detect whether trains are in the area. These are electrical systems which check the passage of train wheels and monitor whether a train is on a section of track. They operate as part of the signaling system, which is designed to be "fail-safe." When an axle counter fails, the signaling system will interpret this as a train remaining in place, even though there may not be a train present at all, or the previous service may have long since left the area. As a result, further trains cannot be automatically allowed onto the relevant section of track. Train drivers will be stopped by red signals on approach. They will then get verbal permission from the dispatcher so that they can proceed, and will run at a heavily-reduced speed as far as the next signal. This is so that the drivers will stop safely if they see anything ahead of them. In some areas, the sections between signals can be several miles long, so this can result in delays building up. Even with shorter sections of track affected, there would still be a delay of at least a few minutes to each trip. Axle counter faults can be caused by a number of different issues, including electronic faults and debris coming into contact with them. Network Rail manages the signaling system, including axle counters, and their staff will be investigating as quickly as possible. Check before you travel: You can check your trip using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner. Compensation: You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your trip today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your trip, as both will be required to support any claim.
