As a result of this, trains running between these stations may be cancelled or revised. Disruption is expected until the end of the day. Elizabeth line customer advice: Please allow for short notice alterations and platform changes and listen to Elizabeth line station announcements or ask a member of staff for further information. You may use your ticket on Great Western Railway services between Reading and London Paddington at no extra cost. Great Western Railway customer advice: Only one train per hour will operate between Oxford and London Paddington. Some trains between Newbury and London Paddington will only run between Newbury and Reading. If you are travelling to or from London Paddington you will need to change trains at Reading. You may use your ticket on the following services at no extra cost: Chiltern Railways between Oxford and London Marylebone. CrossCountry between Oxford and Reading. Elizabeth line between Reading and London Paddington. London Underground Bakerloo line services between London Paddington and London Marylebone. Additional information: A speed restriction has been implemented between Reading and London Paddington. This means that more trains than usual will be sharing the same lines to run through the area, which may result in delays to services due to congestion. In order to minimise the impact this has on service, some trains may be cancelled or revised. Network Rail advise that due to the nature of the fault that has been found, this disruption will last until the end of the day.

Avanti trains to and from Manchester and Liverpool are running less frequently due to these diversions. Less frequent trains between London and Liverpool means a significantly reduced Avanti West Coast timetable at Lichfield Trent Valley and Tamworth. For customers heading to Wembley on 10 August for the Community Shield, this engineering work might affect their journey.
